OBITUARY: 
Services Held Wednesday For Katie Burns, Elkins.
Funeral services were held from the Monmouth Evangelical church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock for Katie Prose Burns, 68, who passed awsay at her home in Elkins Sunday evening. Katie Prose was born July 16, 1866 at Peoria, Oregon, and lived much of her life in Polk and Benton counties. For 12 years she resided at Farmington, Wn. 
The wife of Rev. John L. Burns, who survives her, Mrs. Burns has been active in the affairs of the Evangelical church for the past 32 years. 
Surviving are Rev. Burns and two sons, H. D. Burns of Salem and Charles E. Burns of San Francisco; two brothers, J .H. Prose of John Day and W. H. Prose of Eugene; sister, Mrs. Martha Haptonstall. Funeral services were directed by the Keeney funeral home of Indepdndence. Interment followed in Smith cemetery near Lewisville. 
Her former pastor, the Rev. A. L. Lonsberry of Corvallis, officiaited at the service assisted by the Rev H.R. Scheuerman. Music was furnished by a quartet from the Dallas Evangelical church.
