OBITUARY: 
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Davis, wife of Sam Davis, native born Polk county pioneer, passed away last Thursday afternoon at her home in Dallas after a brief illness. Mrs. Davis was in her 86th year. She was born at Lewisville on December 21, 1855. 
She was married almost 61 years ago, November 10, 1880, to Mr. Davis. They had resided in the county practically all thgeir lives and in Dallas for a great many years. 
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband and one nephew, Al Cherry of Dallas. 
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Henkle & Bollman chapel with Rev. J. Kenneth Wishart, pastor of the Evangelical church, officiating. Burial was in the Smith cemetery at Lewisville.
