OBITUARY: 
Mrs Dine Read, 80, died Saturday evening, November 19, at the Chas Newman home on East Main street. Mrs Read was born April 7, 1858 in Pedee. Following her marriage to A.D. Read she went to Eastern Oregon to live. She came to Monmouth eight years ago. She is survived by two sons: William and A.D. Read, both of Mitchell. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Smith-Baun chapel. Rev W.A. Elkins of the local Christian church officiated and Mrs M.J. Butler of Independence was soloist. Pallbearers included O.A. Wolverton, I.C. Powell, R.E. Emerson, C.C. Mulkey, O.L. Groves and J.L. Van Loan. Interment was in the Smith cemetery near Lewisville.
