OBITUARY: 

Mrs. Cecil (Zora) Embree, 77, of Independence died Jan 30 in a Salem hospital. 
She was born Sept 15, 1894 in Polk county, the daughter of Wright and Bonnie Smith. She married Cecil Embree on May 18, 1911. They lived in Polk county until 1942, when they moved to Portland and then to Lodi, Calif. They returned to Independence in 1955. Embree preceded his wife in death in 1960. 
Mrs. Embree was a member of the Wesley United Methodist church in Monmouth and the Independence Garden club. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Hiebenthal, Monmouth, Mrs. Laura Koozer, Springfield, and Mrs. Nada Runkle, Corvallis; a son, Norval of Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. Leonilla Weaver, Monmouth, Mrs. Evadna Prather, Independence and Mrs. Lilli Doughty, Beaverton; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 
Funeral services were Feb 2 in the Parmenter mortuary with the Rev. Verle Mitchell officiating. Private interment was in Smith cemetery, Monmouth. The family suggests that contributions be made to the Kidney Association of Oregon.
