Colleen Emery Hanson, Aug 1, 1928-May 28, 1990
Monmouth – Colleen Emery Hanson, 61, died Monday in Salem. She was born in Culdesac, Idaho, and came to Oregon from Idaho in 1952. She moved to Monmouth from Gearhart in 1960. She was a graduate of Northern Idaho College of Education, and she was a homemaker. She married Lloyd T. Hanson in August of 1954 in Bend. She was a member of the Sierra Club, Greenpeace, and Monmouth Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. Survivors include her husband; sons, Eric of McMinnville, and Dan, Gordon and Philip, all of Monmouth; daughters, Lisa Kohler of Albuquerque, NM, Amy Strommer of Baker City, Eve Olson of Tangent, Sarah Meyr of Provo, Utah, and Mara Hanson of Virginia Beach, Va; brother, Dam Emery of Boise, Idaho; sisters, Bebe Brown of La Verkin, Utah, and Helen Hartman of Hurricane, Utah; and 13 grandchildren. Services will begin at 2 pm Friday at the church, with interment in Smith Cemetery. Farnstrom mortuary of Independence is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to the church.
