OBITUARY: 
Funeral services were held in the funeral chapel in Dallas Friday for Mrs Mary Hoisington, a Polk county resident since 1903. She died in the Dallas hospital May 31. Rev A.P. Layton, former Dallas Evangelical minister, now of Milwaukie, officiated. Burial was in the Smith cemetery, south of Monmouth. Mrs Hoisington was born in Indiana, January 21, 1864 and was married to William Hoisington there in 1879. They lived nine years in Oklahoma and came to Oregon in 1903, locating on a farm near Lewisville which remained their family home until the land was taken over for the cantonment. Mrs Hoisington then made her home in Cottage Grove. Mr Hoisington died in 1933. Surviving are four sons: Claude of Dallas; Ernest of RFD 1, Dallas; Arthur of Roseburg and Lewis, a school man of Oklahoma city, Okla; four daughters, Mrs Alda Graham, Salem; Mrs Bessie Groves, Monmouth; Mrs Elta Kaup, Woodburn; Mrs Dora Ritchey, Cottage Grove. Also her twin sister, Mrs Nora Yenne of Vanport survives as well as 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
