OBITUARY: 

Eugene C. Osborn, 86, long time resident of the Lewisville community before it was incorporated into Camp Adair, passed away Sunday, November 21, at the Dallas hospital after an illness of seven weeks. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Evangelical church with Rev W.A. Backer, pastor, officiating. Burial was beside his wife in the Smith (Lewisville) cemetery at Monmouth. Arrangements were in charge of Henkle & Bollman. Mr Osborn was born at Deer Creek, Illinois, August 28, 1857. He married Emma Rosella McCormack on December 25, 1888, at Gordon, Nebraska. They were the parents of seven children, all of whom are living. The family came to Oregon in 1897 and settled near Ballston, later moving to near Lewisville where Mr Osborn lived until 1942 when his home was taken for the cantonment. He had since resided in Dallas. Mr Osborn untied with the Evangelical church at Lewisville in 1913. Mrs Osborn passed away April 1, 1914. He is survived by the following children: Wesley S. Osborn, Halsey; Charles Edwin Osborn, Falls City; Frank A. Osborn, Amity; Vern C. Osborn, Dallas; Mrs Lois Smith, Talent; Mrs Mattie George, Dallas, and Mrs Mildred Hoover, Monroe. He also leaves four step-children, Mrs Cora Harris, Philomath; Will McCormack, Pedee; George McCormack, Salem and Mrs Lura Trueax, Salem. There are seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
