OBITUARY: 

Esther A. Bevens, 79, of 568 SW Levens St, Dallas, died Friday, Sept 17, at the Dallas Nursing Home. She was born in Big Stone Lake, SD, the daughter of Nels and Petrea Anderson on April 26, 1903. She married Homer Bevens on June 8, 1924, in Dallas. A longtime resident of Dallas, she was a member of the Dallas First Christian Church, and for several years she was employed as a nursing aide. Surviving are her husband, Homer, of Dallas; two sons, Eldon of Dallas and Stanley of Torrance, Calif; one daughter, Nelda Kingsbury of Corvallis, along with nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Bill Anderson of Forest Grove and Ernest Anderson of Rickreall, and three sisters, Mabel Anderson of Eugene, Cora Coats of Beaverton and Ethel Fisher of Salem. Services were held at 2 pm, Tuesday, Sept 21, at the Bollman Funeral Home with the Rev Gordon Milldrum officiating. Burial will be in Womer Cemetery, Pedee. Contributions in her memory can be given to the March of Dimes in care of the funeral home.
